Editorial policy
Rural Civic Journal aims to make rural civic subjects clear without overstating what can be known. We explain our reasoning, take care with claims and welcome specific corrections.
Accuracy and context
We check factual statements against material appropriate to the subject and make clear when an explanation is general rather than specific to a place. We avoid unsupported certainty and do not turn a single example into a claim about every rural community.
Independence and partnerships
Editorial decisions are kept distinct from commercial arrangements. Paid or otherwise partner-supported material is clearly labelled where it appears, so readers can tell it apart from independent editorial work. A partnership does not guarantee favourable coverage.
Corrections
If you spot a factual error or a passage that needs clearer context, contact us through the Contact page and identify the relevant article and wording. We review correction requests and amend material when warranted, making the change clear where appropriate.
Illustrations
Some illustrations may be generated with artificial intelligence. Illustrations are not evidence of a real place, event or person unless the accompanying text says so, and we take care not to present an illustrative image as documentary photography.
Rural life deserves a close reading
Distance, place and public choices affect one another. Understanding those connections makes rural civic life easier to discuss.
